Special Missions for New Garuda’s CFO
The Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting (RUPSLB) of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) decided to replace one of the directors of the national airline. State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir appointed Prasetio as Garuda's Director of Finance and Risk Management, replacing Fuad Rizal.
President Commissioner of Garuda, Triawan Munaf, said that Fuad's removal from the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) was a request from shareholders. "Especially the Dwiwarna Series-A shareholder represented by the Minister of BUMN," he said on Friday (11/20).
However, no other directors were replaced besides Fuad. President Director of Garuda, Irfaniaputra, said the RUPSLB also discussed the approval of government loan funds. The government provided a loan of Rp 8.5 trillion to Garuda through a mandatory convertible bond (MCB) scheme, which will be issued in December 2020. This assistance is to improve Garuda's financial performance, which has plummeted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
