Running KKP Jambi Merang, Pertamina Receives G&G Study Data

The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry and PT Pertamina held a data handover event for Regional Geological, and Geophysical (G&G) studies in the Central Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Java-Bali, Sulawesi, and Papua-Maluku areas on Wednesday (11/18). The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Acting Head of the Center for Geological Survey Antonius Ratdomopurbo said that the data submission was carried out to fulfill the Jambi Merang Firm Work Commitment (KKP) in the Open Area.

These data include Geological Data, Geochemical Data, Micro Seepage, Seismic and Non-Seismic Geophysical Data, and Evaluation/Work Reports. The collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Center for Geological Survey and Pertamina is expected to add more oil and gas data in Indonesia. "Thus, encouraging investors to invest in Indonesia's oil and gas industry," Antonius said in a written statement on Thursday (11/19).

Besides, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry's Center for Geological Survey continues to conduct general upstream oil and gas survey activities in sedimentary basins in Indonesia, including the Indonesian Regional G&G Study. "The map of 128 Indonesian Sediment Basins that has been updated and published by the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry in 2020 is expected to be the basis for research and G&G studies by all oil and gas industry stakeholders in Indonesia in the future," Antonius said.
