SKK Migas to Reduce Senior Officials as Part of Restructuring Process

Summary

The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) will restructure soon. It will reduce several senior executives for upstream oil and gas activities in Indonesia. The task force’s head of the program and communication division, Susana Kurniasih, revealed that the restructuring plan had been happening since 2019. "The proposed plan will allow the organization to be more responsive in overseeing the government's targets and the SKK Migas’ transformation program," he said.

However, Susana remained reluctant to disclose the details of the SKK Migas’ restructuring plan, currently being evaluated by the Energy and Resources (ESDM) Minister, Arifin Tasrif. "About the final form, we are waiting for the final discussion’s outcome," he explained on Wednesday (11/18). He added that one thing for sure was that the restructuring would allow SKK Migas to process business permit applications faster.
