Major Investors to Swarm West Java

West Java is welcoming numerous large investments. The West Java Governor, Ridwan Kamil, revealed several world-class companies were ready to build factories or production facilities in the region, such as Amazon Web Services and Hyundai Motor. He claimed that the company's global investment commitment meant that the region was in the pole position for infrastructure, market shares, and government support.

"Hyundai will invest in an electric car factory in Karawang. Amazon will invest in three locations, and one day Indonesia's digital economy can receive the support of Amazon Web Services," he explained. Investment Coordinating Board’s (BKPM) data showed that West Java ranked first in the realized investments with a total value of Rp 86.3 trillion during January-September 2020. It came from the accumulation of foreign (PMA) and domestic investments (PMDN).
