PLN Offers Electricity Supply for Rokan Block

Summary

PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) submitted an initial bid to PT Pertamina to supply electricity and steam for the Rokan Block. The Oil and Gas State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) Holding welcomes PLN's wish to provide electricity and steam supply for the oil and gas working area in Riau Province starting August 9, 2021. "By cooperating with SOEs in the electricity sector, we hope to secure preparation for electricity and steam supplies after the transfer of management. PLN, together with PHR [Pertamina Hulu Rokan], will conduct intensive discussions regarding this matter soon," Pertamina Senior Vice President for Corporate Communication & Investor Relations Agus Suprijanto said in a written statement on Thursday (10/29).

According to Agus, Pertamina has submitted a response and is waiting for a further proposal from PLN. Pertamina hopes that the discussion of the Electricity and Steam Sale and Purchase Agreement with PLN will run well and smoothly so that it can be signed in November 2020. "A synergy among energy SOEs does not only increase portfolios that mutually strengthen operational performance in their respective business sectors, but also expected to boost the government's strategic development projects to run well according to the expected target,” he said.
