Jokowi Vows to Revise Job Creation Law: Is It Possible?

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), State Secretary Pratikno, and Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto met Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP) at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on Wednesday (10/21). The focus of the meeting was the Job Creation Law. "PP Muhammadiyah also handed over written notes and input which directly to the president," General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti, revealed.

PP Muhammadiyah also asked Jokowi to postpone the passage of the Job Creation Law. Mu'ti mentioned that, in the meeting, Jokowi explained the background, the material, and strategic role of the Job Creation Law in boosting the economy, including criticisms from the public on it. However, he was sure that Jokowi would not issue any regulation in lieu of law ((Perppu) to cancel it. "However, the government is open to input from various parties, including the possibility of revising the problematic materials of the Job Creation Law," he explained.
