PAG and Natuna Eton Energy to Build 2 LNG Tanks for Foreign Markets
PT Perta Arun Gas (PAG) and PT Natuna Eton Energy collaborate to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks at the former Arun LNG Refinery with an investment value of US$300 million. Both companies have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (10/19). The PAG president director, Arif Widodo, said that as a first step, Natuna Eton Energy would conduct a study on the project and construction process. "Natuna Eton Energy will build 2 tanks with a total capacity of 150,000 m3. However, it all depends on technical studies. For operations and maintenance, PAG is ready," he explained.
The deputy president director of Natuna Eton Energy Alfiansyah Syahbirin Syafe'i, on the other hand, was optimistic that the study could be completed in the next one to three months. The study includes the future business plan and the mapping of potential buyers. Currently, Natuna Eton Energy has secured commitments with several buyers from China, Myanmar, and Thailand. "At least at the beginning of next year our project will start," he said. The US$300 million investment required for the storage tanks will come from Natuna Eton Energy's internal cash.
