Omnibus Law Draft in Jokowi's Hands, No More Chance for Perppu

Summary

The House of Representative (DPR) handed over the final draft of the Job Creation Law to President Joko Widodo, Wednesday (10/14). DPR Secretary-General, Indra Iskandar, said the government would later immediately issue derivative regulations. According to Indra, the draft was handed over to the Deputy for Law and Legislation of the State Secretariat, Lydia Silvanna Djaman.

Indra said there was no change in substance at all in the final draft of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation, the contents are pretty much the same as the one that was passed in the House’s plenary session on Monday (10/5). "In principle, there is no problem," he said.

Deputy Expert at the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Donny Gahral Adian, said the government is preparing derivative regulations such as Government Regulations (PP) and Presidential Regulations (Perpres). "The president is targeting a maximum of three months [for the issuance of regulations], the drafting team has started working," he said.
