Summary

The Legislation Body and the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives (DPR) have finalized the draft of Job Creation Law or Omnibus Law on Job Creation and planned to submit it to President Joko Widodo. The House’s Legislation Body member from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, Hendrawan Supratikno, said the synchronization of the new manuscript was completed on Monday evening (10/12), or a week after its ratification on October 5, 2020. “All factions have signed this latest version,” he revealed.

He confirmed that the last manuscript was 812 pages long, several pages fewer than the previous one at 1,035 pages. The law itself was only 488 pages, while the rest were only for explanation. Hendrawan explained that the total pages got shorter after the House’s Secretariat changed the writing format, per Law No. 12/2011, on legislation creation. The regulation mentions that the statutory regulations’ text shall use size 12 of Bookman Old Style font on F4 paper.
