Summary

The UK-based digital payment platform, PPRO, officially expands its market to Indonesia. PPRO entered the Indonesian market by integrating the e-commerce payment methods developed by DOKU and OVO. PPRO claims to offer the most straightforward and most efficient payment access in the Indonesian e-commerce market. Such an achievement marks an important milestone in PPRO’s expansion across the Asia Pacific.

“Indonesia is a strategic market for top-tier customers and their merchants who are being to globalize faster than ever in the wake of the pandemic,” Kelvin Phua, PPRO Global Head of Payment Networks, explained in a press release on Monday (9/28).

DOKU Chief Marketing Officer, Himelda Renuat, revealed that by integrating its payment platform into the PPRO platform, the company could expand its reach to the global merchant ecosystem. It will be easier for Indonesian consumers to use a trusted payment system when shopping online. Meanwhile, OVO head of PR, Sinta Setyaningsih, stated that integration with the PPRO system would allow OVO users to have unlimited access to the e-commerce market and global payment systems.

PPRO also claims to have processed up to US$ 9 billion worth of payment transaction volume per year and operates in 60 countries. Last August, the company secured US$ 50 million of fresh funding from Sprints Capital and existing investors such as Citi Ventures and HPE Growth.
