PGN Saka Continues Sidayu and West Pangkah Field Development Projects

PT Saka Energi Indonesia (PGN Saka) confirmed the development projects for the Sidayu and West Pangkah Fields are still ongoing amid the COVID-19 pandemic. PGN Saka Acting President Director Susmono Soetrisno said that Sidayu Field project's progress had reached 40 percent. The work includes the construction of uni-platforms in WHPC and WHPD, which are targeted to be completed in late 2020 and will flow its first oil in mid-2021.

Meanwhile, the West Pangkah Field project has reached 82 percent. Susmono explained that the work in the field includes completing civil assignments such as drilling platforms (well pads), processing facility construction work with parallel fabrication activities at two appointed partner-owned fabrication yards located in Balaraja and Handil, and submarine pipeline installation work.

The company is targeting to start the first drilling (spud) and complete the first well in the West Pangkah field in the third quarter of 2020. Meanwhile, the first gas will flow in the middle of the fourth quarter of 2020. "One PGN Saka's efforts is to prepare the most appropriate well development [drilling] strategy to improve project economics, "said Susmono in an official statement, Thursday (9/17).
