Omnibus Bill on Job Creation to Complete Soon, What has Changed?

The government and the House of Representatives (DPR) will immediately finalize the Omnibus Bill on Job Creation. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said discussions of the regulation had reached 90 percent. "Political parties have approved almost all strategic clusters related to the Sovereign Wealth Fund, workforce cluster, legal certainty, small and medium enterprises, and cooperatives," he said, Tuesday (9/15).

Airlangga said the lawmakers are pursuing the process of finalizing legal provisions that will soon be enforced. "[We are] finalizing legal drafting or harmonizing crucial articles," he said. Although many parties still opposed the bill, particularly on the labor and environmental clusters, Airlangga ensured that the talks on the bill would continue.
