The Golden Boy at The Helm of the LPS
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appointed Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) chairman of the commissioners’ board. Purbaya currently serves as the Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Ministry’s deputy to coordinate maritime sovereignty and energy.
He will replace Halim Alamsyah, whose term of office ends on September 24, 2020. Halim is ineligible for reappointment due to his age, reaching the maximum age limit of 63 years.
The State Secretariat secretary, Setya Utama, confirmed that President Jokowi had already approved Purbaya and several other members of the LPS Board of Commissioners. However, he had no clue about their inauguration. The appointment will become official once the Presidential Decree (Keppres) on LPS Board of Commissioners is out on September 20, 2020.
