How the Cancellation of Toll Rate Increase Affects Jasa Marga

Toll road
Summary

PT Jasa Marga Tbk canceled the plan to increase the toll rates for the 56.1-kilometer Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (Cipularang) toll road and the 35.15-kilometer Padalarang-Cileunyi (Padaleunyi) toll road. The rates for three classes of vehicles should have increased since Saturday (9/5). However, Jasa Marga decided to cancel the plan due to people’s weak economic states amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The head of the Indonesia Toll Road Authority (BPJT), Danang Parikesit, demanded Jasa Marga to keep improving its services according to Minimum Service Standards (SPM) despite the tariff increase postponement. Danang also asked the toll operator to keep up with the increasingly high public needs and expectations at the quality of toll road services. “Even though toll users in all groups still have to pay the furthest distance according to the original rates,” he said on Monday (9/7).
