Pertamina EP Drills Two Wells at Sangatta Field

Pertamina EP Asset 5 Sangatta Field (PEP Sangatta) drilled the STE-15 and STE-04 wells on August 28, 2020, which are located in one cluster, precisely at Sangatta Selatan Village, Kutai Timur Regency, East Kalimantan. The STE-15 well drilling is targeted to be completed within 28 days with a depth of 1,800 meters. Meanwhile, the STE-04 drilling has a target depth of 2,000 meters and will start in the first week of October 2020 or after completing the STE-15 drilling.

The STE-15 and STE-04 drilling used the RIG 22.2/OW700-M, which is owned by PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI). It is also PEP Sangatta's first drilling activity in 2020. PEP Asset 5 General Manager Andri Haribowo said that the STE-15 and STE-04 wells could increase oil production by 400 barrels of oil per day (bopd). "We expect to keep contributing to regional revenue, as regulated through the oil and gas production sharing mechanism, local taxes, empowerment of vendors and local communities, as well as community empowerment programs," he said in a written statement, Sunday (8/30).
