Tjetak Secures Funding: A Positive Signal of Packaging Business?

More capital for banks
Summary

Tjetak, a packaging specialist and online printing startup, secured Series A funding from Vertex Ventures, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. The co-founder of Tjetak, Anggara Pranaspati, revealed that the company would use the funds to expand the operational area, add personnel, and develop new service features. "Including increasing the capacity of laboratories and packaging facilities," he continued.

Tjetak was founded in 2018, initiated by three Universitas Indonesia alumni: Anggara, Raffisal Damanhuri, and Hasandi Patriawan. Tjetak offers technology and expertise in packaging design. Through Tjetak Pricing Engine technology, the company can calculate the packaging cost up to 70 percent faster than conventional procedures.

Anggara also explained that the series A funding round was completed at the right time without mentioning the exact number. He also said that it coincided with the increase of small and medium-scale businesses and online-based sales in Indonesia since the COVID-19 pandemic.
