Shopping centers or malls could become new clusters for COVID-19 transmission, in addition to office clusters. Last week, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government expanded tests for coronavirus transmission clusters in malls.

"We continue to identify it (mall cluster), so we are conducting as many tests as possible. The purpose of testing is none other than identifying COVID-19 infections," said DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria.

Riza said that the shopping center had implemented health protocols to prevent coronavirus transmission quite well. However, it does not rule out virus transmission. DKI Jakarta Provincial Government may close a mall if it becomes a new cluster. Moreover, the provincial government, the transitional Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) and tighten the restriction if new cases of COVID-19 keep soaring in the transition period.
