How Impactful Are Two Stimuli for MSMEs?
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) prepares two new stimulus programs for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). These programs are the assistance for productive MSME and business loans with interest subsidies. A total of 12 million micro and ultra micro SMEs are the targets of these stimuli, with each business would obtain Rp 2.4 million.
These programs are different from already-running social assistance programs, such as the Indonesian Conditional Cash Transfer Program (PKH) and the Basic Food Card Program. First Deputy of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Chairman of the National Economic Recovery and Transformation Task Force Budi Gunadi Sadikin said a business loan of Rp 2 million would be given with a 12-month tenor and a zero interest rate. The disbursement will begin in August.
