Will Pertamina Enter the Masela Block as SKK Migas Supports?

The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) stated that PT Pertamina's opportunity to be involved in the Masela Block's Abadi LNG Project is quite open. Moreover, Shell Upstream Overseas Ltd plans to divest its participating interest (PI) in the Block. "There should be potential (to enter the Masela Block), and it is also good for Pertamina," said SKK Migas Head Dwi Soetjipto, Monday (7/27).

Even so, Dwi has not received any information about the state oil company's real action to enter the Maluku-based oil and gas block. Pertamina can directly communicate with Shell on a business to business basis. "Pertamina only needs to prove its ability to invest there," he said.
