Health Ministry’s Official Reassignments: Intentional or Cover-Up?

The Health Minister, Terawan Agus Putranto, replaced several Echelon I and II officials from structural to functional officials. Five of the seven officials came from its Directorate General of Health Services, one from the Secretariat General and the Research and Development Board, involved in COVID-19 mitigation.

The reassigned officials from structural to functional were Bambang Wibowo, from the Director-General of Health Services to a Medical Educator of Clinical Expert; Agus Hadian Rahim, from the  Director-General of Health Services’ secretary to a Medical Educator of Clinical Expert; Tri Hesty Widyastoeti, from the Director of Referral Health Services to the Medical Educator of Clinical Expert; and Desak Made Wismarini, from the General Bureau’s head of the Secretariat General to the Expert Archivist.

Two other officials at the Directorate General of Health Services, Hadi Pranoto, and Yuliatmoko Suryatin, also became the expert physicians. Meanwhile, Indirawati Tjahja Notohartojo, an official at the ministry’s Research and Development Board, is now the Primary Researcher. However, Terawan explained that official reassignments are normal. He only advised the officials to remain committed to the task and keep innovating.
