Pertamina's Refinery Project Development Requires US$ 68 Billion
PT Pertamina is building and increasing its refinery capacity. The total value of the grass roof refinery (GRR) and refinery development master plan (RDMP) projects reaches US$ 68 billion and runs from 2019 to 2026. The state-owned company is building a petrochemical refinery in Tuban and oil refinery in Bontang. It then increased the capacity of the Balongan, Balikpapan, Cilacap, Dumai, and Plaju refineries.
In a virtual interview on Monday (5/18), Pertamina's director of processing and petrochemical megaprojects Ignatius Tallulembang said the capacity of Pertamina's refinery processing capacity would change to 2.1 million barrels per day from the current capacity of 1 million barrels. Meanwhile, the state-owned energy company's petrochemical refinery capacity reaches 1 million kilotons per annum. Currently, Pertamina is still open for cooperation using various business schemes for GRR and RDMP projects.
