PEPC Finishes Important Stages of Jambaran-Tiung Biru Project
PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) has successfully installed an absorber for the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) Field Gas Development Project on Tuesday (5/5). Previously, the company safely installed Selexol regenerator. The installation of an absorber that functions as a separator between natural gas and H2S takes place at the site of the Gas Processing Facility (GPF) Project in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java.
An absorber is a tool that PEPC uses for absorption, which is the process of absorbing gas fluids by all parts of a liquid as absorbent. With a height of about 62 meters from the ground, an absorber that weighs 550 tons was installed by carrying out the Pre Job Safety Meeting (PJSM) first. The equipment will be installed using a boom crane as high as 90 meters with a capacity of 1350 tons and 350 tons.
"This tool is quite important for GPF operations because the gas produced will be processed and separated from the H2S element," PEPC President Director Jamsaton Nababan said in a written statement on Tuesday (5/5). Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, PEPC targets to produce gas and condensate from the JTB Field with average raw gas production of 315 MMSCFD and on-stream in 2021 with gas sales of 192 MMSCFD.
