Several State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and private companies have rushed to import rapid test kits for the Covid-19. PT Indofarma Tbk, for example, introduced 100,000 units of kits from China and South Korea. "These are initially intended for hospital needs," said Indofarma Director, Herry Triyatno.

Meanwhile, private companies importing these products include PT Itama Ranoraya Tbk and Lippo Group. Itama Ranoraya Director Pratoto Raharjo said the company imported 100,000 of rapid test kits from Singapore while the licenses are being registered. Itama Ranoraya will first distribute these kits for social purposes, before then commercially traded. Meanwhile, the Lippo Group provided rapid tests and personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel.
