Covid-19's Impact Leads to Infrastructure Project Halt

Summary

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is increasingly felt in various business sectors. The Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry will issue regulations related to the suspension or moratorium on infrastructure projects amid the coronavirus pandemic. According to the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry's Director General of Construction Trisasongko Widianto, the moratorium will be regulated through Ministerial Instruction.

In the regulation, Sasongko added, some steps must be taken by commitment-making officials (PPK) as government representatives and service provider contractors. The duration of the moratorium will also be adjusted to the condition of the area affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. "The presence or absence of the moratorium depends on the conditions at the location of each work," he said.
