Google: The Newest Indonesian Tax Agent
Google will help the Directorate General of Taxation to ease the tax collection from 58 million micro, small, and medium enterprises. The director-general of taxation, Suryo Utomo, on Tuesday (2/18), revealed that his department is collaborating with the US-based technology company to release four modules to ease the tax collection from micro, small, and medium enterprises. Google and the Directorate General of Taxation are getting help from the Center for Indonesia Taxation Analysis (CITA) to assemble the modules.
The modules consist of several crash courses for business owners to improve their finances and make them understand their tax obligation. The collaboration allows micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs to access the modules through the Google Primer app. “In the future, we want to work in synergy. We agreed that going digital is a must. Engagement is a must, so we can know what we can do to help develop the economy,” Suryo explained in a press conference in Jakarta.
