Earth-Shattering Provisions at the Omnibus Law on Job Creation
The government finally submitted the Job Creation Law draft to be discussed together with the House of Representatives (DPR) on Wednesday (12/2). The law, better known as the omnibus law, has 1028 pages, with 174 articles that revise the provisions in 79 other acts. Therefore, different from other rules, this law will be discussed by seven different commissions in the DPR.
The submission of the bill was welcomed by a massive demonstration from the labor union. They reject the revision of Law No. 13/2003 on Manpower through the omnibus law. They argue that several changes in the draft are detrimental to workers and only bringing benefits to employers.
