Budget Hotel Business: A Worthy Investment
The budget hotel business is up-and-coming, following the trend of budget traveling. The research from YouGov Research and Airy revealed that Indonesian travelers tended to use such hotels in 2019. The affordability of the service becomes the main attraction for middle-income travelers.
The survey, titled Airy Budget Travel Insight 2020, laid out various reasons for traveler’s fondness for spending the night in budget hotels. The affordability topped the chart with 54 percent of respondents, and 41 percent chose them because of their strategic locations. In contrast, 39 percent of them wanted the benefit of discounts or special promotional prices offered by the hotels. The survey also showed that respondents were willing to spend about Rp 100,000-Rp 300,000 (US$ 7.3-US$ 21) per night.
