Bumi Resources Betting on Coal Gasification

PT Bumi Resources Tbk is reviewing its plan to build a coal gasification plant worth US$ 1 billion. The company is still doing a feasibility study, which is targeted to complete this year.

According to Bumi Resources Director Dileep Srivastava, the construction of the coal gasification plant is part of the company's efforts to assist the government in reducing energy fuel imports. It is also expected to lower Indonesia's trade balance deficit.
