Newcomers in E-Commerce Logistics Business
PT Dewata Freightinternational Tbk will operate in the general logistics business this year. The energy logistics company, trading as DEAL at Indonesia Stock Exchange, plans to get involved in the e-commerce logistics business by registering to bonded logistics centers (PLB). The president director of Dewata Freightinternational, Nofrisel, as quoted by Kontan on Monday (1/13) revealed that the company had observed that the rapid improvement of the Indonesian e-commerce industry successfully triggered the growth of logistics business as well. Dewata Freightinternational based its decision on this fact and decided to enter the industry.
To prepare it, the company, known as DFI Logistics, is formulating an operational design that is suitable and adaptive to the e-commerce logistics development. For example, DFI’s plan to digitalize all of its operations could help improve the logistics business as the company’s core business. It is ready to spend a Rp 200 billion of capital expenditure to enhance the armada and new storage facilities in its attempt to operate in the halal product logistics business.
