"Intermediary Figure" to Lead PLN

The government appoints former Bank Mandiri President Director, Zulkifli Zaini, to lead PLN. Previously, several officials, including Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan, said that PLN president director’s position would be occupied by the former Minister of Telecommunications and Information, Rudiantara, but the plan was revoked.

Zulkifli was finally chosen because of his actual track record, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir said in a statement. One of his experiences is becoming a financial expert who has handled large banks. Zulkifli, who had also served as PLN's commissioner, is in charge of managing finances and building an electricity transmission network to objectify the 100-percent electrification ratio target.
