A Strategy to Survive: Gojek Ceases Some GoLife Services
PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa or Gojek is streamlining its business structure by cutting down some of GoLife services. Starting in January 2020, the ride-hailing giant will shut down six services: GoGlam (beauty parlor service), GoFix (home appliance repair service), GoDaily (goods purchasing service), GoAuto (vehicles washing service), GoLaundry (laundry service), and Service Marketplace (goods purchasing in marketplaces).
The shutdown leaves only two available services in GoLife, namely GoClean (home cleaning service) and GoMassage. Head of Golife Wesly Simpatupang said the measure is taken to maintain Gojek's business sustainability. Later, GoLife partners may shift to other services such as Goride, GoCourrier, Gopay, GoTix, and Mapan.
"We also open up opportunities for partners to attend job fairs organized by the Ministry of Manpower," he said. Golife has an estimated 15-20 percent of the total Gojek partners who reach 5 million.
