Gloomy Weather on Banking Industry

Summary

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) admits the performance of the banking industry will be slower this year. The authority revised the projected loan growth at the end of 2019 to eight percent-ten percent on an annual basis (year-on-year/YoY).

"Credit is expected to grow nine percent and plus-minus one percent in 2019. The 2019 bank business plan (RBB) is ten percent and plus-minus one percent," OJK Board of Commissioners Chairman Wimboh Santoso said.
