PLN, Poso Energy Add 200 MW Electric Supply in Southern Sulawesi

PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara Sulawesi development master unit (PLN UIP)  and PT Poso Energy completed the 4x50 megawatts (MW) Poso Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) extension phase 2, putting the Southern Sulawesi's electricity system in the top contributor of Indonesia's new renewable energy (NRE) mix.

General Manager of PLN UIP Sulawesi Defiar Anis said the completion of the Poso hydropower plant extension phase 2 was marked by an operation-worthy certificate (SLO) for unit 3 and unit 4 on December 10, 2021, following SLO issuance for unit 1 and unit 2 in September 2021. "The electricity from the Poso PLTA extension phase 2 will soon join the Southern Sulawesi electricity system," Defiar said on Wednesday.
