Bali's Tourism Bounces Back
Bali remains an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors seeking to invest in the tourism accommodation sector, such as hotels and restaurants.
Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali Deputy Chairman I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya said there were additional 1,000 new hotel rooms, including villas and homestays, in 2022. Bali's popularity as the leading tourism destination in Indonesia continues to drive high interest in hotel investments.
"Some are building new hotels while others are developing existing ones by adding new rooms," he said, expressing positivity about this trend, highlighting the high demand for hotel investment in Bali.
New hotel constructions are mainly concentrated in South Badung, specifically in Canggu, Pecatu, Jimbaran, and Nusa Dua. Currently, Canggu is the most favored area for hotel and villa construction.
Suryawijaya emphasized the importance of balancing massive hotel investment with road infrastructure development to ensure tourists' comfort and avoid congestion.
