Sumbawa to Build Sports Center in Samota Area

Summary

The Sumbawa regency administration is developing a sports center and supporting infrastructure in the Samota (Saleh Bay, Moyo Island, and Mount Tambora) area.

The facility will support the regency's primary tourist destinations and hopefully become a new tourist attraction in the area.

"The development of a sports facility and infrastructure is expected to be able to meet the people and tourists' needs in the long term. It can also become a new landmark for the Sumbawa Regency," Sumbawa regent H Mahmud Abdullah in Mataram said on Monday.

The sports center will sit on 16 plots of land covering almost 50-70 hectares area. It will be located right around the Samota Circuit where the Samota Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) was held on Jun 25-26, 2022.

"The location is being prepared, as is the compensation," Abdullah said.
