Bank Mandiri to Issue Rp 5 Tln Green Bonds
Bank Mandiri treasury and international banking director Panji Irawan revealed the bank's plan to strengthen sustainable lending with environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles and improve its ESG-based liquidity by issuing green bonds. The bank has also adjusted its banking business plan (RBB) to carry out this corporate action. "The RBB is ready. The green bonds may be in rupiah. The amount will be around Rp 5 trillion," Panji said Tuesday.
Bank Mandiri is still waiting for Financial Services Authority's (OJK) clearance on the matter. "It's possible that it will happen in the first half of this year. We will hold the public expose next week, allowing us to use the 2022 financial statement for this corporate action," he said.
