Latest Rumor: Binance to Acquire Tokocrypto

The world's largest crypto exchange Binance reportedly plans to acquire Indonesia's crypto exchange Tokocrypto. A Tech in Asia source said that Tokocrypto CEO Pang Xue Kai would resign from his position at Tokocrypto after the acquisition process was completed.

The source also said there would be potential layoffs (PHK) after Binance acquired Tokocrypto. VP of Corporate Communications of Tokocrypto Rieka Handayani said the company could not comment on circulating rumors and speculation. "Currently, Binance is one of Tokocrypto's investors who have joined since 2020 to jointly develop the company and help build the crypto asset industry in Indonesia," Rieka said on Wednesday.
