Here Are the Details of the France-Indonesia Arms Sales Deal

The Defense Ministry said the contract to purchase six Rafale fighter jets from France was officially effective. The fighter jet produced by Dassault Aviation is expected to arrive in Indonesia in 2026. "The contract has been effective since Sept 9," Defense Minister spokesman Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said on Sept 22.

The Dassault Rafale purchase deal signing was witnessed by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and French Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly on Feb 10. Indonesia will gradually acquire 42 aircraft. Head of the Information Service of the Indonesian Air Force First Marshal Indan Gilang Buldansyah stated that the first aircraft will arrive in Indonesia around the end of 2026. The Indonesian Air Force has planned to train pilots and maintenance personnel for the 4.5 generation fighter aircraft.
