Thousands of Business Licenses Stuck in OSS System
The Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) believed the Online Single Submission (OSS) still could not process the business licensing properly. Apindo chairman Hariyadi Sukamdani revealed that many Indonesian Standard of Industrial Classification (KBLI) still have not been included in the system. According to Hariyadi, only 1,349 out of 3,801 business categories in Indonesia are registered with the OSS. As a result, many business players cannot process their business permits specifically because the OSS system is not in-sync with existing regulations.
Hariyadi said these companies would suffer massive losses for months, hurting investments and employment levels in the process. If the business category does not exist in the OSS system, the licensing application process must be done manually, which takes a longer time. It will hurt the investment competitiveness in Indonesia and its government's efforts to reform the bureaucracy.
