Pertamina EP Cepu Drills First Exploration Well in Papua

PT Pertamina EP Cepu Zone 14 kicked off the Markissa exploration well (MKS-001) drilling in Sorong, West Papua. The MKS-001 well is the first exploration well that Pertamina EP Cepu Zone 14 drilled after eight years of having no exploration drilling in Papua. This drilling is part of Pertamina EP Cepu Zone 14 activities to complete the Papua Drilling Campaign, consisting of one exploitation well and three exploration wells in Papua.

"SKK Migas expresses appreciation for the work area's exploration well drilling. Papua has promising oil and gas potential and is currently one of the main contributors in achieving national oil and gas production and lifting," Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto said on the sidelines of a site visit to MKS-001 exploration well, West Papua, Wednesday.
