President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his group of supporters, Projo, signaled support for Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election. At Projo's national working meeting in Magelang, Central Java, on May 21, Jokowi stated that the issue of political support from various mass organizations is getting stronger. "Political matters should not be rushed. Although, maybe the ones we support are here," he said.

The statement could translate as support for Ganjar, who was indeed present at the event. Projo members who were present at the event spontaneously shouted, "Ganjar. Ganjar." Jokowi also calmed the crowd in attendance by saying that the political dynamics ahead of the 2024 Election were still unclear. Even so, Jokowi ensured that he would hear his supporters' aspirations regarding support for the presidential candidate.
