United Coalition Strategy to Get a Head Start in 2024 Election

Koalisi Bersatu, or the United Coalition formed by the Golkar Party, United Development Party (PPP), and the National Mandate Party (PAN), has begun setting up its presidential and vice-presidential candidates to run in the 2024 general election. PPP deputy chairman Arsul Sani said the United Coalition is considering running Ridwan Kamil, who currently serves as West Java's governor. "We will discuss everything later," he said on May 16, 2022.

According to Arsul, PPP still respects Golkar, which will nominate Airlangga Hartarto in the 2024 election. According to him, coalition leaders will discuss this. "Of course [we will discuss it] while looking at the direction of other parties or coalitions to run the presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 election," he said.
