Be Prepared, Electricity Rates to Rise Soon

Summary

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) plans to readjust electricity rates for non-subsidized customers of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) in 2022. Director-General of Electricity Rida Mulyana said that electricity rates would rise following the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently-appointed PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the company is ready to implement a rate adjustment that the government will set. According to him, determining the electricity rates is still ongoing.
