Danger Lurks Behind Short Term Quarantine
The government shortened the quarantine period for people coming from abroad to only five days. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that the cut refers to the COVID-19 incubation period. "The latest records that I have obtained are that the average incubation period for COVID-19 is 3.7 to 3.8 days," Sandiaga said on Sunday.
Deputy Chairman of Industry, Investment and Business Competition Commission of the House of Representatives (DPR) Gde Sumarjaya Linggih appreciated the government's plan to cut the self-quarantine period. In this way, he said, foreign tourist visits to Indonesia will increase after it was stopped due to community activities restrictions (PPKM). "This is a positive step for our economy, especially Bali," he said.
