Indonesia's Sovereign Wealth Fund Eyes Airport Projects
Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), will finance a number of airport projects carried out by state-owned airport management companies, PT Angkasa Pura I and PT Angkasa Pura II. These two projects are the development of Soekarno-Hatta Airport and the establishment of a cargo village in the airport area. INA CEO Ridha Wirakusumah insisted that Soekarno-Hatta Airport would be an important infrastructure in encouraging economic growth.
As the largest and busiest airport, Soekarno-Hatta Airport needs to develop and improve the management standards expeditiously. "The strategic partnership with Angkasa Pura II is in line with INA's investment focus," Ridha elaborated on Tuesday. INA has also included the development of Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, managed by Angkasa Pura I, in the list of projects that needs to be financed.
