The government revoked several off-limits sectors for investors through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 10/2021 on Investment Business Sector. In this regulation, the government applies the Positive Investment List as the basis for granting business licenses.

The Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia said Perpres No. 10 amends Perpres No. 44/2016 on Negative Investment List (DNI). In the previous regulation, about 20 business fields were closed off for investment. "Through the new regulation, we have reduced it to six business fields," he said. The six business fields are narcotics, gambling, fishing of rare fish species, natural coral extraction, chemical weapons industry, and ozone-depleting chemical industry.
