Huge Demand Prompts PGN to Supply Gas in Kendal Industrial Estate
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) will support the construction of natural gas infrastructures and distribution services in the Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK), Central Java. PGN's Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Redy Ferryanto, said that, since 2016, the company, trading as PGAS on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, had conducted several studies on the industrial estate, especially on gas demand. Recently, it proved that the gas demand in it was quite large.
Currently, PGN is maintaining intensive coordination with KIK operators on the potential gas demand from industries in the region. "KIK will send an official letter to PGN on the total demand," Redy confirmed in a written statement, Wednesday (2/24). KIK is one of the new industrial areas in Indonesia.
According to Redy, PGN will serve the natural gas trade in KIK through their pipeline distribution network in Sales & Operation Region III, such as the transmission pipe for the Gresik-Semarang segment. The 267-kilometer long pipeline can distribute up to 400 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).
