Gaining Popularity, Will Governors be the Next Presidential Candidates
The Indonesian Survey Institute’s (LSI) latest research revealed the public trust in the government. LSI Executive Director, Djayadi Hanan, said that one of the most significant results of the survey was the fact that governors’ popularity is higher than those of other government institutions, including President Joko Widodo. "The level of public trust in governors is higher, meaning that administrations that are closer to the people tend to get a more positive sentiment," he explained.
LSI interviewed 1,200 respondents selected by the multi-stage random sampling method. In the survey, which was conducted on January 25-31, 2021, the margin of error was around 2.9 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent. Djayadi said the public trust in governors showed people’s attitudes and could be a good asset for the 2024 presidential election.
