Here's Why LPI Newly Appointed Directors Are Worthy

President Joko Widodo announced five directors of the Investment Management Agency (LPI) or Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. They are the nation's best people with years of experience as professionals in international companies, carefully picked by the selection committee with the help of professional head hunters.

"With a strong legal and political foundation, a great board of supervisors and directors, and a strong international network, I believe INA will gain national and international trust, making it a world-class sovereign wealth fund," Jokowi stated. Here are the five LPI directors:

1). Ridha Wirakusumah (President Director/Chief Executive Officer)

Career history: President Director of Bank Permata, Director of Kohlberg Kravis Robert (KKR), CEO of Asia Pacific AIG, CEO of Asia-Pacific General Electric, CEO of Maybank Indonesia, Vice President of Corporate Banking Group Head at Citibank.

2). Arief Budiman (Deputy President Director/Deputy CEO)

Career history: President Director of Danareksa, Director of Finance at Pertamina, President Director of PT McKinsey Indonesia.

3). Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja (Investment Director/Chief Investment Officer)

Career history: Creador Managing Director and Country Head for Indonesia and Singapore.

4). Marita Alisjahbana (Director of Risk Management/Chief Risk Officer)

Career history: Country and Corporate Risk Manager at Citibank Indonesia for 15 years, Country and Corporate Risk Manager at Citibank Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

5). Eddy Porwanto (Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer)

Career history: Director of Delta Dunia Makmur, Senior Executive of Northstar Pacific, Director of Finance at Garuda Indonesia, Director of Finance at General Motor Indonesia.
