Who Is Responsible for Hospital Claim Mess?

Doctor's pocket
Summary

The Indonesian Private Hospitals Association (ARSSI) complains about the cost of treating COVID-19 patients that several private hospitals have to bear since the Health Ministry has not yet reimbursed it. ARSSI data shows that, since October 2020, the ministry has not paid for COVID-19 patient treatments worth hundreds of billions of rupiah. The government should have paid this fee to around 700 private hospitals used as referrals for COVID-19 patients.

The secretary-general of ARSSI, Iing Ichsan Hanafi, revealed that the government had not yet paid other claims. "The total value is hundreds of billions," he said as quoted by CNN Indonesia on Wednesday (1/27). As a result, it disrupted private hospital activities. "It's disrupting cash flows. Hospitals are struggling to buy medicines and increase beds," he explained.
